## ByteSweep Docs

ByteSweep shows you what fills your disk, and removes only what you agree to. Six short lessons take you from your first check to a computer that looks after itself.

### Pick up where you are

- [**New to ByteSweep** Start the lessons. They take about ten minutes.](https://bytesweep.app/docs/learn/first-check.html)
- [**Not installed yet** Install it on Mac, Windows or Linux.](https://bytesweep.app/docs/setup/install.html)
- [**On a phone** Clean & Transfer for iPhone and Android.](https://bytesweep.app/docs/phone/start.html)
- [**Something's not working** Common problems and how to fix them.](https://bytesweep.app/docs/help/troubleshooting.html)

### How the docs work

Pages show one app at a time. Choose **Mac**,**Windows**or**Linux** under the title and the steps and pictures change to match. Your choice is remembered.

Each lesson ends with something to try on your own computer. Press **It worked** and the line in the menu moves on. Search with `Ctrl` `K`, or `⌘` `K` on a Mac.

### The promise behind every page

- ByteSweep looks first. Scanning changes nothing.
- Nothing is removed without showing you.
- Most of what it removes can be put back for 7 days. The few things that cannot are [listed here](https://bytesweep.app/docs/clean/labels.html#what-cant-be-put-back), and the app tells you before they go.
