## Send to your devices

Move files between your own devices on the same network. Nothing goes through a server.

### Send something

1. Open ByteSweep on both devices, on the same Wi-Fi. On the other device, open **Send to your devices** (**Send to Devices** on a phone).
2. Under **Send to**, choose the device.
3. Choose what to send.
4. Accept on the other device.

### The first time

A new device shows a six-digit code on both screens. Accept only if they match. After that it stays under **Your devices** and doesn't need a code again.

### Who can send to you

Under **Receiving**, choose**Everyone nearby**,**Only my devices**or**No one**.

### Not showing up?

- Check both are on the same Wi-Fi, with ByteSweep open.
- Open the **Not showing up?** section for another way to connect.

On Linux

A firewall can block it. **Let devices in** opens the port (47391/tcp) and asks for your password. The AppImage needs Avahi's tools installed separately.

On Mac

A Mac and an iPhone also find each other without a Wi-Fi network, as long as Wi-Fi is on.

### Limits

The first 10 sends are free, and receiving is always free.
