## Let it look after itself

Checks are off until you turn them on. Choose how often, and how much is worth telling you about.

- Clean by itself
- Space Guard

### Check on a schedule

1. Open Settings, then **Check automatically**.
2. Turn it on.
3. Under **How often**, choose**Weekly**,**Every 2 weeks**or**Monthly**.
4. Under **Tell me when there's at least**, choose an amount.
5. Press **Check now** to try it.

Checks are skipped when the battery is below 20%.

On Windows and Linux

On Windows and Linux, **Check automatically**is in Settings →**Cleaning & undo**.

### Clean by itself

**Clean safe items automatically** is off by default and needs a licence. It leaves the Trash alone.

### Space Guard

**Space Guard** keeps a set amount free: 5, 10, 20 or 50 GB. It checks every 15 minutes and needs a licence. Undo works for a day after Space Guard cleans, then the space comes back for good.

#### Now try it on your computer

Turn on a monthly check and press Check now.

##### If it doesn't work

If you see no notification, allow them first. On a Mac that's Settings → **Notifications**→**Allow…**.
