## Review and delete

Every list works the same way. Choose, then Review. Photos, videos and files are only deleted from Review.

### Choose, then Review

1. Open a list, such as **Similar Photos**or**Large Videos**.
2. Tap to select. Press and hold to look.
3. Tap **Review**.
4. Check the list, then delete.

On iPhone

Press **Delete N Items**, then**Move to trash**, then confirm in iOS's own prompt.

On Android

Press **Move N items to trash**, then confirm in Android's own prompt. Bytesweep keeps one copy of every set of duplicates.

### Keep a copy first

On iPhone

Review also offers **Copy somewhere first**,**Send to Devices**and**Hide in vault**.

On Android

**Keep a copy first**offers**Move to private vault**,**Export to a folder first**and**Send to Devices**.

### Get something back

On iPhone

Deleted photos stay in Apple's Recently Deleted for 30 days. The space returns after that, or when you empty the album.

1. In Bytesweep, open **Recently Deleted**and press**Recover in Photos**, or open Photos yourself.
2. Go to Albums → Recently Deleted.
3. Unlock with Face ID if asked, then tap Select.
4. Choose the items and tap Recover.

On Android

Photos and videos stay in Android's trash for 30 days. Open **Recently deleted**and press**Restore all**, or select some and restore those.**Delete for good** frees the space now.

Some things skip the trash: files, contacts and calendar events are gone straight away, after you confirm. Contact merges can't be undone on Android.
