On Mac

### Mac

Needs macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

1. [Download](https://bytesweep.app/download.html) the disk image.
2. Open it and drag ByteSweep onto Applications.
3. Eject the disk image, then open ByteSweep from Applications.

On macOS 11 to 13, use [Bytesweep 1.x](https://bytesweep.app/install.html).

On Windows

### Windows

Needs 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.

1. Open [ByteSweep in the Microsoft Store](https://bytesweep.app/windows.html).
2. Press Get or Install.
3. Open it from the Start menu.

On Linux

### Ubuntu, Debian and family

```
cd ~/Downloads
sudo apt install ./bytesweep_*_amd64.deb
```

Keep the `./`: it tells apt this is a file.

### Fedora

```
cd ~/Downloads
sudo dnf install ./bytesweep-*.x86_64.rpm
```

### openSUSE

```
sudo rpm --import https://bytesweep.app/bytesweep-linux.asc
cd ~/Downloads
sudo zypper install ./bytesweep-*.x86_64.rpm
```

### Any other distribution

```
cd ~/Downloads
chmod +x ByteSweep-*-x86_64.AppImage
./ByteSweep-*-x86_64.AppImage
```

On ARM, take the arm64 or aarch64 file: `uname -m` tells you. The [full guide](https://bytesweep.app/linux.html#install) covers checking the signature.
